BASIL - ITALIAN LARGE LEAF Ocimum basilicum - Grown in the "flowery meads" of Italy's pleasure gardens in the 1200's. This variety is sweeter than others, lacking the heavy clove undertones of some basils. Leaves are large, (aka lettuce leaf basil) medium to dark green. High yielding pesto-type. Type: Annual Light: sun Soil: good. Spacing: 10cm. Height: 30cm. Season: summer to fall. Propagation: Direct seed after frost danger. Cover seeds. OR Start indoors in early spring. Germinate @ 22C.
