SPINACH - NEW ZEALAND --- UNAVAILABLE -- SPINACH New Zealand First introduced in the 1700’s. This is not a true spinach but is similar in tate and usage. They are not frost hardy but thrive in hot weather and is slow to bolt. Can be grown in containers. Soak seeds overnight. Direct seed in late May or early June. OR Start indoors 2-3 weeks before last frost. Sow 1cm deep and 10cm apart. When seedlings are 8cm tall, think out to the strongest seedlings, plant 30cm apart. Germination takes 14 days.
