CUPID'S DART Catananche caerulea - Discovered in SW Europe and introduced to gardens in the late 1700's. Every cottage garden should have this drought-tolerant gem that flowers freely from June to September. Boasting intensely blue cornflower like blooms whose petals are toothed and sturdy gray green stems and leaves, it was once used in love potions. Plant it in masses for an especially glorious show and for bouquets in the house � fresh or dried. They dry well. They will bloom lightly the first year and profusely the years after. Ht. 60 cm Wd: 45cm. Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost, germinate @ 20C. Cover seed lightly. OR Direct seed in early spring when frost is still possible. Zone 3-8. SEED COUNT: 50 plus |
