LUPINS - RUSSELL STRAIN LUPINS Russell’s Strain lupinus polyphyllus A mixture of pink, salmon, blue, yellow, white, red and bicolours will bloom on tall spires and are a must in the cottage garden. Looks great beside a barn or shed. . This strain has been around since the 1930's when native plants of the USA were bred with the tree lupin and then further improvements were made by George Russell. Type: Perennial Zone: 4-8 Light: sun, part shade Soil: well-drained Spacing: 25cm Height: to 100cm Season: summer Propagation: Soak for 24 hours. Direct seed in fall or spring as soon as ground can be worked. Plant 2cm deep. (preferred method) They need cool weather to germinate. OR Start indoors in early spring. Germinate @ 15C.
